Where this stands
Today a session has a fixed size. When fewer cards are due, the loader fills the gap with reviews that are not due yet, soonest first. That is why "ya" came back the same day you rated it Easy, and why this morning's session was mostly grammar. You asked for alternatives that re-use words you have already seen without pulling their review forward.
Each idea below says what you would see and what it costs to build. Rate each one, add a note if you want, then press Submit to Claude once at the bottom.

1
F1 — Reversed card
A seen vocabulary word shows its English side first; you recall the Indonesian word, then flip. Same card, same audio, no FSRS change: the reversed showing is a practice pass, not a review, and never moves the due date. Build: about one lane-day (a "practice" flag on the deal + one renderer switch).
2
F2 — Example sentence with the word highlighted
Instead of the headword, you see one of the word's example sentences with the target word highlighted; tap to reveal the meaning of the highlighted word in context. Uses the six examples every enriched sense already carries. Practice pass, no due-date change. Build: about one lane-day.
3
F3 — Cloze on a seen word
The example sentence with the target word blanked; you type or tap the word (the Context Fill game already has this mechanic). Practice pass. Build: half a lane-day (re-use Context Fill's cloze on the carousel).
4
F4 — Audio-first recall
You hear the word (or the example) before seeing anything; recall the meaning, then reveal. Uses the clips already rendered. Practice pass. Build: half a lane-day.
5
F5 — Shorter sessions instead of filler
When fewer cards are due, the session is simply shorter; the count line says "8 due today". No practice passes at all. Build: two hours (the loader stops filling; the home screen copy changes).
6
F6 — Fill with new words instead of early reviews
The gap is filled from the Coming Up queue (new words) rather than reviews pulled forward. Learners meet new words faster; the daily new-word budget still caps it. Build: two hours (the loader prefers the intake queue for filler).
7
F7 — Mixing rule
If practice passes exist (F1–F4), how they mix into a session: a fixed share, or only when due cards run out.
